Peter Dodd Funeral Directors is a longstanding client of Mullen Stoker, with the Sunderland-based business receiving retained accountancy support in a range of areas.
Here owner and director Dave Gardener explains more about the relationship he has with Mullen Stoker and why them “talking his language” is so important to him…
Sunderland business Peter Dodd Funeral Directors has been a client of Mullen Stoker for the past six years.
The firm, which has three sites across Sunderland and employs 11 people, receives accountancy support including tax filing, staff pension contributions and end of year account filing.
Dave Gardener is owner and director of Peter Dodd Funeral Directors, having taken over the business in 2000 when founder Peter passed away.
He said: “Mullen Stoker, particularly Neil and Keith, are fantastic because they speak my language which is so important.
“They make the whole process so simple for me which is great because it is a minefield and there are so many areas we have to keep on top of.
“I always feel like nothing is too much trouble for them, that they’re always happy to go above and beyond for us and are on the other end of the phone if we have any questions we need help with.
“It’s for that reason that I would class them as friends as well as our accountants and for a small business like ours, that’s is crucial. People do business with people after all.”
Peter Dodd Funeral Directors was founded in 1982 and has its head office in Grindon, as well as offices in Roker and Hylton Castle.
They provide funeral services primarily across Sunderland, although do work outside of the city if asked.
Dave added: “I cannot thank Mullen Stoker enough for the help they give us.
“They make everything easy to understand so we know our accounts are in safe hands and we’d have no hesitation in recommending them for the excellent service they provide.”
